Weddings Galore!

http://www.joeandvickie.com/jessica-benjamin/

So I've begun an adventure this summer among my friends here in New Jersey who all seem to be gettin' hitched. They've discovered my penchant for flowers and are letting me help them out with their weddings. Here's the first one I did with friends. Check out the link for the professional photographers shots.

Evening photos

So when I finally got to leave work late this evening there was beautiful sunlight hitting the trees with dark clouds in the background, so trekked back inside, borrowed the camera and took some non-work pictures for the first time in months.

I wanted to try a zoom lens blur and lens flare.

Do you think any of these are worth anything other than picture experiments? It's hard to take any decent pictures in CB with the trailers, power lines, and stacks of pipes in the background!

Aleph installation - My newest reflection obsession

So, I'm completely swamped at work and should be sleeping, but what do I find myself doing? Posting on the blog. It's all Emily D's fault for sharing her Prezi. Then one thing leads to another on the internet!

Basically this is a pixel display made out of mirrors. So it makes pictures using just the reflections in the environment around it by moving the mirrors with motors. Genius! All my most favorite art uses reflections. Though maybe I was over them, but apparently not. Hope you like it too!

So I originally saw this as the first part of this Prezi explanation here.

Then I got curious and found their web explanation here.

Then there is the YouTube video:

Artemisia Gentileschi Video

I would love to see this movie about Artemisia Gentileschi. Wish it was playing somewhere nearby. I saw an exhibit of her paintings in St. Louis a few years ago. How many modern day feminists repeatedly paint men being beheaded?

Fun Design site

So I just found this horribly addictive site via facebook: Dear blank, please blank

I really like the design. This is the designer's portfolio page. Also excellent.

Maybe just maybe this will inspire me to investigate web design again, but it's so overwhelming. Not going to happen this week though since I'm getting ready for Jocelyn to come and I'll be taking tons of pictures for work which promise to be just that: hard work.

Thanks for all your wonderful comments on the last photo post. I always love reading them!

New Runner photos!

Hello ladies. Hope the new year is treating you well. I've been hibernating and ignoring everything in life besides the absolute necessities. Trying to start some better habits and get things in order and some of my own projects and interests started again. Anybody feeling the same way?

Got to take table runner photos today at work. Not exactly my own artwork, but these are my favorite pictures to take for work. They are smaller scale so I can move things around easier and be a little bit more creative! Here's a few of the best ones.

I don't know that this last one is the greatest, but I love these little birdies that my boss brought in for props.

Do you think these sell the product? Suggestions alway welcome!
